Massachusetts Teachers' Retirement System (mtrs)

The Massachusetts Teachers' Retirement System (MTRS) administers retirement, disability, and survivor benefits for Massachusetts public school educators. Funded through member contributions, state appropriations, and investment income, MTRS ensures financial security for its members. Established in 1914, it has a long history of supporting educators' retirement needs. MTRS is the largest of the Commonwealth's 104 contributory retirement systems, serving over 90,000 active and retired educators.
