The Bureau of Indian Affairs (BIA) is a U.S. government agency within the Department of the Interior that manages and finances many programs for Native American tribes. Established in 1824, the BIA provides services such as education, law enforcement, and infrastructure development to promote tribal self-determination and economic development.
