CBP's mission includes securing the nation's borders from terrorism, human and drug smuggling, illegal migration, and agricultural pests while fostering lawful international trade and travel. Established in 2003 as part of the Homeland Security Act, CBP is one of the world's largest law enforcement organizations, employing over 60,000 personnel.
