Essence Prep

Essence Preparatory Public School, commonly known as Essence Prep, is a tuition-free public charter school located on the Eastside of San Antonio, Texas. Founded in 2021 and opened in August 2022, the school focuses on providing rigorous academics and intentional character development to its students. The institution aims to support Black and brown students, preparing them for high school, college, and beyond. Essence Prep is governed by a dedicated board and offers unique programs such as free ballet courses in partnership with the San Antonio Ballet School.
