Friends Of The High Line

Friends of the High Line is a non-profit organization dedicated to the preservation and maintenance of the High Line, an elevated linear park, greenway, and rail trail in New York City. They generate revenue through a mix of public funding, private donations, and various events and programs that engage the community. Founded in 1999 by Joshua David and Robert Hammond, the organization played a crucial role in transforming the abandoned railway into a vibrant public space, officially opening the first section in 2009. Their ongoing efforts focus on horticulture, public art, and community engagement.
