Harlem Children's Zone

Harlem Children's Zone (HCZ) is a non-profit organization based in New York City that focuses on breaking the cycle of poverty for children and families in Harlem through education, social services, and community-building initiatives. They make money primarily through donations, grants, and government funding. Founded in 1970 by Geoffrey Canada, HCZ has grown to serve over 14,000 youth and nearly 14,000 adults with programs ranging from early childhood education to college support, emphasizing a holistic approach to community development.
