Innocence Project

The Innocence Project is a nonprofit legal organization dedicated to exonerating wrongfully convicted individuals through DNA testing and reforming the criminal justice system to prevent future injustices. Founded in 1992 by Peter Neufeld and Barry Scheck at the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law, the organization has played a pivotal role in over 375 DNA exonerations. They make money through donations, grants, and fundraising events. The Innocence Project also advocates for policy changes, provides legal assistance, and educates the public about wrongful convictions.
