The Ion Center For Violence Prevention

The Ion Center for Violence Prevention is a nonprofit organization focused on providing support, advocacy, and prevention services for individuals affected by sexual and domestic violence, primarily serving Northern Kentucky and Greater Cincinnati. The organization operates a 24-hour crisis hotline, offers counseling, legal advocacy, and educational outreach to schools and communities, and works to raise awareness about violence prevention. Funding comes from a combination of government grants, private donations, and community partnerships. Originally founded as the Women’s Crisis Center in 1976, the organization rebranded to The Ion Center in 2021 to better reflect its inclusive mission and expanded services for all genders. Candidates should be aware of its longstanding commitment to trauma-informed care and its leadership role in regional violence prevention efforts.
