The Certified Peer Recovery Specialist provides hope and encouragement to clients in recovery, assists them in identifying strengths and weaknesses, helps articulate recovery goals, develops aftercare plans, and connects clients with community resources. They advocate for recovery services, attend treatment team meetings, act as liaisons with support groups, model coping techniques, support vocational choices, teach problem-solving skills, accompany clients to community events, and document progress and treatment plans.
