New York Power Authority

The New York Power Authority (NYPA) is the largest state public power organization in the United States, providing low-cost electricity to government agencies, municipal utilities, and rural electric cooperatives. Established in 1931, NYPA operates 16 generating facilities and over 1,400 circuit-miles of transmission lines. It generates revenue primarily through the sale of electricity and energy services. NYPA is also a leader in promoting energy efficiency, renewable energy, and technological innovation to support New York State's clean energy goals.
