SAG-AFTRA, the Screen Actors Guild - American Federation of Television and Radio Artists, is a labor union representing approximately 160,000 film and television actors, journalists, radio personalities, recording artists, and other media professionals. The organization negotiates contracts to ensure fair wages, benefits, and working conditions for its members. Formed in 2012 from the merger of SAG and AFTRA, it has a rich history of advocating for performers' rights and has been instrumental in shaping industry standards. SAG-AFTRA generates revenue through membership dues and fees from contract negotiations and residuals.
